i promise

luck
luck is an amazing concept. it allows people to win the lottery, find love(yes i believe that is luck), and just in general have wonderful lives.
luck is also something that has given me three unbelievable children.
they are loving and sweet, and yes they sometimes drive me nuts, but what child doesn't drive their mommies nuts. they are defiantely not supernanny or nanny 911 crazy and that is lucky for me.:)
an example of their wonderfulness you ask......
this morning matty and i sat in bed for an hour after the girls went to school watched handy manny and ate dried fruit together. andn the whole time, he cuddles into my arms and fed me dried apples since those were the ones he didn't like
if thats not lucky, i don't know what is.

mud
with the temps being so high for the last few days, alot of the snow is gone in the yard and wonderful mud has replaced the white lawn.
today even the mud has been altered at our house. this m orning i let the kids do something that i would normally not allow since it is just plain yucky.
the kids went out in their boots and vests (i'm telling ya, its beautiful out here)and had a hay day in the mud. they played in it for a little over an hour, and at some points played in the run off of water from teh roof pooling on the ground to clean up their hands and get dirty all over again.
by the time they were done, all the clothes and boots and even undies were wet with water, mud, leaves and anything else the ground had to offer.(all "clean" for ground items) i wouldn't even let them in the house, so i had to lock them out while i got a laundry basket outside to collect the clothes.
i ahve to say it was comical to see three little monkeys completely naked outside the door piling their clothes into the basket. if it hasn't been for the fact that it is still marh outside and still not really warm enough to stay outside nakie, than i would have gotten some great pictures of them in their muddy clothes.
oh well, they are in the wash, the kids have been bathed clean and the remnants of this mornings fun are all cleaned, but the memories of muddy fun is still ever present with the kids and they still can't stop talking about the mess, and the fun they had outside.
that means a great day for the kids and hopefully now that i have gotten over my issues with mud, they can have fun like that many more times in the near future

a little advice
when you have sick children in the house with coughs, fevers and especially runny noses, make sure you wipe them clean before they come in to kiss you. you just might get more than you bargained for when the kiss lands on your lips.
i know i got more than i asked for.
and if your thinking EWWWWWW.......... than EWWWWWWWW is very right!

ahhhhhh.......
that is what i am feeling right now. just a sense of ahhhhhh.
the kids have been sick the last couple days with coughs and fevers, but everyone seems to be on the mend now. haley is the last one to get it, so she came home sick from school today and slept an hour when she did.
with all the kids in bed, i have a few minutes to just sit and type. i have a few loads of laundry and a sink full of dishes waiting to get cleaned. but all i want to do is sit here on the couch and relax.
you see it has been a busy few days of nothing really, but busy none the less. an i have a bunch of other things that need to be done throughout the rest of the week.....oil change, pick up piece from haley's headboard, groceries, a couple possible playdates and just getting things around the house done.
so please excuse this boring post, but this is the first time all day that i have been able to just go ahhhhhhhhh.

updates
well i only have one update really.
matty has officially turned 2. sometime between sunday night and monday morning.
he had his two year check up yesterday and was a champ. just sat down quietly while he was examined and nicely pointed to the cabinet where our doctor keeps his suckers and asked for one as soon as he could.
my little man now weighs 25lbs even( i didn't even think he weighed that much) and is almost 34 inches tall. he now weighs half a pound less than his big sister sarah.
we knew he would outgrow and outweigh her, but we thought it would take a few more years than this. she is still a couple inches taller than him though.
