MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry christmas to our family and friends. you might be wondering how we can post tofay with it being the actual day of christmas, but we have nothing going on. thats right, we are actually very lucky to have no gatherings and events on this normally crazy holiday.

the kids were up EARLY this morning after little sleep. and they are certainly showing it now. they love their presents and while they nap, thats when things really get going around here. the toys need to be taken out of their insane wrapping. god forbid that the toys move at all in their boxes....

there are dinos, houses, hannahs and lola all over the house. and more trucks than i can count. the kids will have a ball later playing with everything.

and even some of the kids toys will work well for Jason and I. i bet i can kick his butt at dancing to "its a small world"
thanks to auntie tara and uncle dave. we'll call you in a couple days to thank you for the great gifts. and bubyb sandy and grandpa lenny, we'll call you as soon as we pick up the package at the post office......

well i have to go, this house won't fill itself with toys, and we need to be ready since tonight is a quiet movie and chinese night.... thats right, we are having chinese on christmas. for those of you tsking me, my mother has already sone that for all of you.

lots of love from all of us to all of you......

reindeer food

so it didn't take me long to find what i wanted(thank you google) i thought some of you might like to do this too.

MAGIC REINDDER FOOD

Ingredients:

1/2 cup regular oats (such as Quaker Oats).
1 Tbsp. clear decorative sugar crystals, 1 Tbsp. red or green decorative sugar crystals, or 1 tsp. glitter.

Instructions:

1.Mix oats and sugar (or glitter) together in a small zip-top bag.
2.On Christmas Eve, let your kids sprinkle their Magic Reindeer food on the lawn to help entice Santa's reindeer. They can then go to sleep, confident in the knowledge that Santa's sleigh will most certainly find its way to their house and that Santa's reindeer will receive a nice reward for their efforts.

wow

you know, when i had kids i never thought that for christmas i would be wrapping up two bags of CHEWRIFFIC dog treats and have them under the tree with the rest of the family's gifts.
just goes to show you, prioritites in life can change in an instant, and if your kids want the puppies to unwrap their "gifts" with them than you will make it happen.

oh yeah, i have to get a receipe for reindeer food too. Haley heard there was such a thing that you can make on TV and now shw thinks the reindeer will be hungry delivering gifts too.....

how time flies

you'll notice at the side of the blog that the photo of the family has been changed. that means all your cards should have been received and we are hung up on your fridges or some other location in your homes.

we hope you enjoy them, believe me, it is ALOT of work to get them, mostly on the part of our photographer.
the kids have grown so much this last year, and if you still have our card from lst year, you may or may not notice it for yourselves....

only a year ago haley was in kindergarten just getting the hang of going to school and learning new things. she was making new friends and becoming a big girl. this year she has grown, is learning to read, and telling us all about science and math and other things that are important to her. and is getting to be very mature with her younger siblings(most of the time). she is maturing everyday and showing us how quickly time flies.

this time last year sarah was just a toddler and just starting to talk. never did i think that in one short year she would be in her first year of JK telling me of all the things she is learning. she is independant and head strong, but loving and caring. she has many friends at school and has become a friend to her sister as well.

matthew was just our baby. he wasn't walking, talking or performing any major feats. of course he has changed the most this year. how could he not. he is talking more and more everyday, he not only walks, but runs, and loves to climb on anything that he can. he is loving and totally in awe of his older sister and what they are doing. if you ever want to find him, ask the girls where they are and matty will be close behind them.

as i said before, the kids have grown in many ways over the last year. height and weight might not be at the top of the list, but you know what they say.

big things come in little packages!

can you feel it yet?

christmas is really close now! you know with it being DECEMBER 1st and all! around here it's kind of hard to tell since we have no snow, and the weather hasn't dipped below -10 here during the day yet either. i'm not complaining, i'm just saying, for some it might not feel christmasy for them yet. it will for us after tonight though. we inflate the santa in the front yard, and turn on our new twiggy lights in the front garden. and the house will be decked out in santas, snowmen and a some other holiday favorites.

and right now, every time we leave the house matthew says "bye santa" while he is just flopped onto the ground, i can't wait to see his face when the whole thing is up at night. we might have to pry his little fingers away from the window, just to get him to come and eat or sleep or bathe......

we are putting up the "gift tree" soon and the presents are all wrapped already so it will be fun holding the kids back for another month before they can touch anything. at least they can open up their hanukkah gifts in two weeks. that should hopefully satisfy them a little longer.

oh yeah, and since it is officially december now, we can start by doing our favorite holiday activities, looking at the lights, getting a real tree for upstairs, giving the kids their advent chocolate every morning (did you know they make cars, hannah montana, and tinkerbell ones now...just in case thats what you like)and enjoying the time we have to do all those fun activities and more

don't let teh scrooges out there ruin your spirit with their bad parking, mean tempers and sneaky line cutting..... they might be getting coal on the 25th.

see you soon!
